DAY 1: FIELD OF LIGHT
Transfer from the airport to Ayers Rock Resort. After checking into your luxury Sails in the Desert hotel. Â Time to relax and get ready for your outback adventure.
Tonight the outback will light up as you enter into the Field of Light. As far as the eye can see gentle rhythms of colour light up the desert. The critically acclaimed Field of Light Uluru by the internationally celebrated artist Bruce Munro is on display and due to popular demand, has now been extended indefinitely. The exhibition, aptly named Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or ‘looking at lots of beautiful lights’ in local Pitjantjatjara is Munro’s largest work to date. Overwhelming in size, covering more than seven football fields, it invites immersion in its fantasy garden of 50,000 spindles of light, the stems breathing and swaying through a sympathetic desert spectrum of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white.

DAY 2: KATA TJUTA
Meet your guide early this morning at the entrance of your hotel. Today your tour will travel through the landscape to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From there is it a 40 kilometres journey through the desert landscape to the mighty rock formation.
On arrival at the viewing area you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the suns morning glow as the desert comes alive.
We make our way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy an outback picnic breakfast. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men’s sacred ceremonial site.
We take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology have evolved over millions of years.
Your guide will return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort.

Located in the heart of Watarrka National Park, it lies in an ancient Australian landscape that is sacred ground for the Ulpanyali and Lilla people. The Rim Walk is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The climb up a 100-metre cliff face reveals views of sandstone walls, grottos, chasms and cliffs. Or, for something more relaxing, set off on a two-kilometre stroll along the creek bed that leads to impressive views of the canyon rim.
